The 8TH Annual Rat Beach Bike Tour will be held on Saturday, OCTOBER 14, 2017. We have three great rides to choose from—a Metric Century (62 miles), a Metric Half Century (31 Miles) and a New Beach Fun Ride (approximately 15.5 miles), starting from our new location at Seaside Lagoon in Redondo Beach.

This Years Rat Beach Bike Tour is being held at our new location in the Seaside Lagoon next to King Harbor, just north of the Redondo Beach Pier, 200 Portofino Way, Redondo Beach, CA - 90277 (At the corner of Harbor Drive and Beryl Street).

We have three great rides to choose from and you will finish the ride at a PARTY and Bike Expo.  Now tell me what could be better, ride then party with your friends.

After the ride you can have your family/friends meet you for a BBQ lunch served by very dedicated Rotarians, then enjoy the music, libations and tour the Bike Expo which will be Bike Vendors, Bike Shops, Bike Manufactures and Bike Clubs.

This year’s 2017 event promises to be even larger with more interesting routes through the beautiful South Bay. Your entry fee will help support the Wounded Hero's, the Harbor Regional Center, the ARC House, plus the many other charities supported by the South Bay Sunrise Rotary Club.

Your entry fee includes

•RAT Beach T-Shirt

•SAG stop refreshments

•Roving bike support

•BBQ Lunch served by very dedicated Rotarians.

•Plus the sun, beach and ocean.

What could be better?

We will ride rain or shine, but when does it ever rain at the beach? This is a bike ride, not a bike race and bike helmets are required. You will not be allowed on course without your helmet.

The third ride will be a full Metric Century (62 miles). This ride leaves Seaside Lagoon at 7:00am and will visit all the Beach Cities—Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach, Marina Del Rey, Westchester, El Segundo, Torrance, Lomita, San Pedro, and Palos Verdes—so even more beach and more tan. Then back to Seaside Lagoon for a terrific lunch and Bike Expo.

ATTENTION 62 MILE RIDERS: When you enter Palos Verdes from San Pedro there will be NO route signage. This is because of Local City Ordinances do not allow signage. This is not an issue because you will be traveling ONLY on Palos Verdes Drive. Once you arrive at Malaga Cove you will see a flagman directing you to turn left on Palos Verdes Blvd., in about a half mile you will then make a left turn on Paseo De La Playa and into Redondo Beach and back to the signage you are used to seeing.  Also have a something warm with you because the back side of Palos Verdes is often cold.

Remember please be sure to come to a complete stop at all traffic signals and stop signs not controlled by law enforcement. Traffic laws are strictly enforced in several of the beach cities and in Palos Verdes.
